Basketball Federation of India has <\/em>granted exclusive recognition<\/em><\/a> to \u20183×3 Pro Basketball League Indian Sub-continent (3BL)\u2019, making it India\u2019s only authorized professional 3×3 basketball league. 3BL is the only Professional Basketball League in the world to have exclusive rights from both the International Federation (FIBA) and the National Federation (BFI).<\/em><\/p>

3BL Season 3 will be held between 5<\/em>th<\/sup><\/em> to 27<\/em>th<\/sup><\/em> March 2022 in the basketball loving city of Chandigarh.<\/em><\/p>

With its \u2018#RoadToOlympics\u2019 tagline, 3BL aims to support BFI\u2019s vision of Indian 3×3 National Teams qualifying to the Olympics.<\/em><\/p>

3BL will provide valuable income and international exposure to players, besides an opportunity to gain crucial FIBA 3×3 ranking points. <\/em>

Participation of top Indian players in 3BL Season 3.<\/em><\/p>

Chandigarh, 15th<\/sup> December 2021: <\/strong>It\u2019s official. <\/strong>Basketball federation of India (BFI) and 3×3 Pro Basketball League Indian Sub-continent (3BL) sign the exclusive contract to promote 3×3 Professional Basketball in India. The dates for 3BL Season 3 will be 5th<\/sup> to 27th<\/sup> March 2022 in the basketball loving city of Chandigarh. 

These announcements were made earlier today at a press conference at JW Marriot Hotel in Chandigarh. The press conference was hosted by Mr. Chander Mukhi Sharma, Secretary General – BFI, alongside Mr. Rohit Bakshi, 3BL Commissioner. Also present were senior India international player from Punjab, Palpreet Singh Brar, and female international player from Delhi, Raspreet Sidhu. <\/p>

\u201cBFI granted the exclusive rights to 3BL in order to promote 3×3 Professional Basketball in India. 3BL will provide additional income and additional exposure to many Indian Basketball athletes.\u201d Mr. Sharma said. \u201c3BL will act as a feeder system for our national teams, especially those that will be participating at the 3×3 events at next year\u2019s Commonwealth Games and Asian Games.\u201d<\/p>

\u201cWe are extremely grateful for BFI to grant the exclusive rights to promote 3×3 Professional Basketball in India.\u201d Mr Bakshi said. \u201c3BL is committed to providing a valuable source of income to players, besides exposure to play alongside and against international talents. In addition to BFI\u2019s national recognition, 3BL is also exclusively recognized by the international federation (FIBA), which provides multiple unique benefits for many Indian Basketball players.\u201d <\/p>

Indian Basketball players to participate in 3BL Season 3 ensures all our players gain high FIBA 3×3 ranking points. This raises the overall FIBA ranking of the Indian National Team,<\/p>

thereby increasing India\u2019s chances of qualifying for the Olympics. Moreover, top ranked 3BL teams also get the chance to participate in FIBA 3×3 International Championships, which will raise the profile of India\u2019s basketball players.<\/p>

Thanks to BFI\u2019s recognition, 3BL becomes a key fixture in India\u2019s national basketball calendar that currently includes National Championships across age groups, as well as the Federation Cup for top club teams. Participation in 3BL will help maintain the playing fitness of India\u2019s national team members and therefore translate to improved performances while representing the country in FIBA\u2019s premier international events.<\/p>

As in the previous season, there will be 18 franchises (12 Men & 6 Women) vying for the Championship in 3BL Season 3. The rosters for all teams will be announced after a player draft ceremony.<\/p>

3BL, 3×3 Pro Basketball League Indian Sub-continent, is an intellectual property of YKBK Enterprise Pvt. Ltd. It has six women\u2019s teams and 12 men\u2019s teams competing in the professional circuit. 3BL is the exclusive rights holder for 3×3 basketball in India officially approved and recognized by FIBA, International Basketball Federation, and BFI, Basketball Federation of India.<\/p>

About Basketball Federation of India (BFI)<\/strong><\/h3>

The Basketball Federation of India or BFI is the governing and controlling body of basketball in India, and is responsible for the development and promotion of the sport at all levels. BFI has been involved in conducting camps, clinics, events, and training sessions at its academies for the development of basketball. BFI came into being in 1935 and took complete control over Indian basketball in 1950. Prior to that time, the Indian Olympic Association handled the conduct of Indian basketball championships. 3×3 Basketball is the fastest and shortest format of basketball in the world. All you need is one hoop, a half-court and six players.
